About the Recipe

Indulge in the classic flavours of our Spaghetti Marinara. This delightful dish features al dente spaghetti tossed with a rich, tangy tomato sauce, and loaded with an assortment of fresh seafood, including prawns, fish, and squid. Enhanced with garlic, herbs, and a splash of white wine, this recipe brings the taste of the sea to your table, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special weekend meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra to toss

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 1 cup (250ml) dry white wine

  • 3 tbsp tomato paste

  • 2 x 410g cans crushed tomatoes

  • 500g dried spaghetti pasta (or other long pasta of choice)

  • 500g marinara mix

  • 2 tbsp chopped flat-leaf parsley

  • Salt and pepper to season


Preparation

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook pasta according to packet directions. Drain and toss in the extra olive oil.

  2. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat, add onion and cook for 3-4 minutes or until softened.

  3. Add garlic and wine, and simmer 2 minutes.

  4. Add paste and crushed tomatoes, and simmer 15-20 minutes further, stirring occasionally until slightly thickened. Season well.

  5. Add marinara mix to tomato sauce, cover with lid and cook 3-4 minutes over medium-high heat.

  6. Stir in parsley, then toss the sauce through the pasta and serve.
